Common Issues

Device not connected or license missing

If no MicroPeckerX is detected—or if a connected unit lacks the required license—the windows display the following messages:

WindowNo device detectedDevice connected without license
Device Window"No Device"
Trigger Window"Device not connected.""No License"
Display Filter Window"Device not connected.""No License"
Label Filter Window"Device not connected.""No License"
Monitor / Each ID Windows"Device not connected." (or "No License" unless a monitoring license is present)
Simulation Window"Device not connected.""No License"
Analyze WindowNormal displayNormal display

Nothing appears in Monitor Window

  • Confirm the Display Filter settings. When a filter is active, the tab shows a filter icon.
  • Make sure the channel selected in the window matches the channel you intend to monitor.

"There was no corresponding log." appears in Analyze

If Trigger Mode is Triggered, no data is captured until the start trigger fires. Switch to Free Run or adjust the trigger.

Simulation window is blank

  • Check the Device Window to confirm the hardware is recognized.
  • Ensure the checkbox next to the device/channel is enabled.

"Need Update" remains after updating

Some updates require unplugging and reconnecting the hardware. Reconnect the unit and try again.

Communication errors

Verify cabling, sync connections (even if Clock Synchronize is disabled), and the baud-rate configuration.

Error frames are not transmitted

For ShortMsg or Framing errors, ensure the error position is within the payload length. Invalid positions disable the error type.

Event logs or schedules behave unexpectedly

  • Conflicting event log definitions may exist; later definitions take priority.
  • Schedules change only after the current schedule finishes or the system sleeps and wakes.

Displaying SID/EID separately

Set CAN ID Form to SID/EID in the Option dialog.

Importing MicroPecker Analyzer logs

You can import MicroPecker CAN Analyzer logs from the Ch Log tab. LIN logs and other formats that cannot be converted are skipped; a dialog shows how many records were converted.
