Purpose of This Document
This document is the user manual for the MicroPeckerX Update Tool.
Using the update tool, you can update the firmware of the MicroPeckerX device.
Please refer to this document when updating MicroPeckerX firmware.
How to Use This Document
Each chapter explains how to use the MicroPeckerX Update Tool.

Terminology
The terms used in this document are described below.
| Term | Description |
|---|---|
| MicroPeckerX | General name for hardware products provided by Sunny Giken with in-vehicle communication interfaces. Used for various purposes including analysis and data acquisition. |
| Update Tool (MPXUpdateTool.exe) | Windows application used to update the MicroPeckerX firmware (internal software). Used to apply new features and bug fixes. |
| Device List | Area on the update tool main screen where information for connected MicroPeckerX units (serial number, whether update is needed, and status) is displayed in a list. |
| Serial | Unique serial number assigned to each MicroPeckerX unit. Used for identification during updates and license management. |
| Update (Needed/Not Needed) | Indicates whether an update is required (Needed) or not required (Not Needed) for the connected unit. |
| Status | Displays the unit status (waiting, updating, success, failure, etc.). |
| Self-powered USB hub | USB hub that uses external power. A self-powered hub is strongly recommended to provide stable power during updates. |
| Bus-powered USB hub | USB hub powered from a PC USB port. Not recommended due to the risk of insufficient power during updates. |
| LED status | Device LED indicator that shows update results and unit status by color (green, yellow, red). |
| Reconnect (insert/remove) | Operation of unplugging and reconnecting the device or cable to a USB port. This may be required according to on-screen instructions during or after update. |
